3 tips for increasing the value of your home
New research has shown that space has overtaken location as the key concern for people looking to move home.
So what can be done to increase the value of your home, and ultimately create more space?
Extend – Adding extra rooms will almost always add extra value to your property. If you’re short of room to extend at the back, a side extension can add valuable floor space and really impact on how you use your space. Look at house prices within your area to work out how much value an extra bedroom could add to your property, and be wary of overdevelopment.
Conservatory – Generally you won’t need planning permission to build a conservatory, but they can be a cheaper option for adding space to a kitchen or living area. Building a conservatory can add natural light to otherwise dark spaces and allows you to enjoy your garden without going out in the cold.
Make internal changes – Before committing to an extension, why not consider how you could increase space within your property by making internal changes. Internal walls can be moved (unless they are load bearing) to open up space, or to section of space to create extra rooms.
